T(caps)he government has taken measures to
vaccinate students from corona protection informed by Education Minister Dr. Dipu
Moni.
He said that even though educational
institutions are closed, online teaching is going on, work is on to improve the
online education system in future.
This was stated by the Education Minister
in Webinar on the occasion of Mujib Varsha celebrations on Tuesday night under
the theme "Role of Education in Nation Building: Education Philosophy of
Bangabandhu and The Current Education System of Bangladesh" organized by
the Department of Chemistry of Jagannath University (JU).
Addressing the chief guest at Webinar, the
Education Minister said that classes on television have been started within 12
days of the closure of educational institutions. There is no chance to deny
online classes. In addition to teaching in classrooms, online education
programmes should also be given importance. Which would have taken us a few
more years to start, we have just started because of the corona.
Emphasizing on technical education, he
said technical schools are being built in every upazila. Efforts are on to use
the degree certificates issued from them in equivalent institutions. Emphasis
is being given to ICT skills, language education, expansion of science
education. Foreign languages have now become tool. Communication skills,
collaboration skills, critical thinking skills need to be acquired.
Prof. Dr. Shamsun Nahar, Chairman,
Department of Chemistry, University delivered the welcome address at Webinar.
Prof. Dr. Sharif Enamul Kabir, former Vice Chancellor of Jahangirnagar
University and Dr. Mohammad Salim, Professor of History, Jagannath University
also participated in the discussion.
Educational institutions in the country
have been closed since March 17 last year due to an upward infection of the
Corona epidemic. It was not possible to open even after announcing the date in
a few rounds. Frustration has filled the students. The question of when the
campus is opening is now in the mouth.
